Mr. Fitzgerald was born in Nelson County on May 31, 1900, a son of the late Obediah Harrison Fitzgerald and Heather Puckett Fitzgerald. He was a member of Beech Grove Christian Church at Beech Grove and a retired employee of the Morton Frozen Foods, Inc., of Crozet. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carrie Fitzgerald; one son, Maurry C. Mr. Fitzgerald was born in Nelson County on May 31, 1900, a son of the late Obediah Harrison Fitzgerald and Heather Puckett Fitzgerald. He was a member of Beech Grove Christian Church at Beech Grove and a retired employee of the Morton Frozen Foods, Inc., of Crozet. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Carrie Fitzgerald; one son, Maurry C. Fitzgerald Jr., of Roseland; three daughters, Mrs. A. A. (Lillian) Kidd and Mrs. N. C. (Catherine) Kidd, both of Roseland and Mrs. J. H. (Charlotte) White of Lowesville; six sisters, Mrs. Susie Perry, Mrs. Cecil Barker, and Mrs Willie Fitzgerald, all of Waynesboro, and Mrs. Ressie Berry of Vesuvius, Mrs. Dora Spencer of Lovingston, and Mrs. Roland Story of Charlottesville; two brothers, Curtis Fitzgerald of Afton, and James Fitzgerald of Charlottesville; 18 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Preston Parr Funeral Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Philip Forehand. Burial will be in the Beech Grove Christian Church cemetery at Beech Grove. Active pallbearers will be Brent Fitzgerald, Robert Barker, William Perry, Malcolm Fitzgerald, Tommy Thompson and Windom Henderson. Honorary pallbearers will be Page Grove, Jess Hughes, Maphis Campbell, Leslie Fitzgerald Jr., James Patrick, J. P. Duncan, Roger Fitzgerald, Donald Truslow, Charlie Giles, J. Worthy Thompson, R. P. Dugan, Richard Napier, Homer Weaver, Ronnie Campbell, Basil Campbell and Hawthorne Falls. The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 7 to 9.
