Max Delbert Colgrove, son of Bert W. and Merle Linch Colgrove, was born Nov. 15, 1935 in Wymore, Neb. In 1937, the family moved to Superior where he attended public schools, graduating in 1954. After graduation he entered the Marine Corps where he served two years. After discharge he enrolled at Kearney State Teachers College, graduating in 1960. June 5, 1960, he was united in marriage to Erva Ebke, Franklin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Ebke. They moved to North Bend, Neb., where he taught in the public schools for six years. Colgrove then became associated with the insurance business and had lived in a number of cities before moving to Houston about two years ago. Survivors are his wife, Erva, Houston; mother, Mrs. Merle Colgrove, sister, Mrs. Myron Wilcox (Eleanor), and a brother, Donald Colgrove, all of Superior; and many other relatives. ======================================= North Bend Eagle (North Bend, NE), Thursday, April 10, 1980; pg. 12 Funeral services for Max D. Colgrove, 44, of Houston, Tex. were held March 24 at the Williams Funeral Home in Superior. Rev. Richard Kelderhouse officiated, with Mrs. Nancy Johnson as organist. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in Superior, with the Superior Lodge conducting Masonic services. Colgrove died March 19, 1980 at Houston. He was born Nov. 15, 1935 at Wymore, the son of Bert W. and Merle (Linch) Colgrove. He attended school in Superior and served two years with the Marines before entering Kearney State Teachers College. He married Erva Ebke of Franklin on June 5, 1960, and the couple lived in North Bend for six years where he was a school teacher. He then became associated with the insurance business and had lived in a number of cities when the family moved to Houston about two years ago. He was preceded in death by his father in 1970. Survivors include his wife of Houston; mother, Mrs. Myron (Eleanor) Wilcox, and a brother, Donald, all of Superior.
