His funeral will be Saturday at 2 pm at the Tulare United Church in Tulare, with the Rev. James Waisanen officiating. Burial will be in the Tulare Cemetery near Tulare. Visitation will be Friday from 1 pm to 8 pm at Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield, and one hour prior to services at the church. Max Neitzel was born Dec 27, 1915, in Tulare, to Albert and Minnie Neitzel. He attended country school near Tulare and farmed with his family before working in the CC Camps in Arkansas. He then worked in Steen, Minnesota for several years. He married Della Boysen in Luverne, Minnesota, on Dec 31, 1941. They moved to the family farm and farmed until he retired in 1986. He moved to Vale for several years before moving to Aberdeen to be near his family. He had been living at Manorcare for the past three years. He is survived by his daughter, Maxine Dinger of Aberdeen; a daughter-in-law Sue Ann Neitzel of Custer; two sisters, Minnie Groth of Cokato, Minnesota; and Dorothy (Jordon) Zillmer of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; six grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren, with another one due any day. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Della in 1981; his son Gary in 1980; his son-in-law Pat Dinger in 2003; and two brothers, Herman and Robert.
