Description	:	Max Leland Davis, son of J. M. and Fern Davis, was born May 2, 1925, in Minneapolis, Kansas and departed this life August 2, 1985, at the age of 60 years and three months at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Max grew up in Minneapolis, attended school there and graduated from Minneapolis High. Immediately, after his graduation, he left to serve in the United States Navy where he spent 4 years. M. and Fern Davis, was born May 2, 1925, in Minneapolis, Kansas and departed this life August 2, 1985, at the age of 60 years and three months at the Wesley Medical Center in Wichita. Max grew up in Minneapolis, attended school there and graduated from Minneapolis High. Immediately, after his graduation, he left to serve in the United States Navy where he spent 4 years. Upon his return he farmed in western Kansas near Winona and on April 4, 1949, he was united in marriage to Doris M. Long. To this union three children were born: Raymond, Leland, and Kelita. The Davis' lived in Colorado for a while after marriage, moving back to Ottawa County in 1950. They lived west of Minneapolis and in Tescott before moving to their present home east of Minneapolis. Mr. Davis was a farmer and worked also on heavy equipment for Forestry Fish and Game. He was preceded in death by; his father, J.M. Davis, and one sister Claudine Lane. He leaves to mourn his passing; his wife Doris of the home, his son Raymond and wife Kathy of Minneapolis, his son LeLand of Wells, his daughter Kelita of the home, his mother Fern of Delphos, a sister Vaughn Melander of Gypsum, 2 brothers, Jim and Lowell of Delphos, 5 grandchildren; Jamie, Missy, Billy, Shelby and Erica, nieces and nephews and other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday, August 5, at 2:00 p.m. at the Shield's Funeral Home, with the Rev. James Flick officiating. Organist was Mrs. Max Hoesli, Jr. Casket bearers were: Jack Merill, Curtis Lott, Dalton Davis, David Davis, Dondi Davis, and Billie Copas. Interment was at the Fairview Cemetery in Ada, Kansas.
