Description	:	Max Darling the son of Frank and Hanna (Ahlvers) Darling was born May 27, 1929 at Beloit, KS. Max departed this life on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at the Superior Good Samaritan Center at the age of 82 years. Max served in the United State Army in the Korean Conflict as a corporal and was honorably discharged in 1953 and continued in the reserves until 1957. To this union two children were born, Ragene and Candy. Max was a life member of the Superior Veterans of Foreign War No 3355, serving as the commander for a number of years. He also was a member of the Superior American Legion. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Phyllis in February of 2000, brothers Wilbur and Doyle Darling, sisters Irene Gholson, Helen Ewer and Geneva Sloan, nephew Mike Clyde, and brother-in-law Shrimp Whitney. Survivors are: son Ragene Darling and wife Mary of Logan, IA; daughter Candy Dewey and husband Rick of Dumas, TX; three grandchildren: Jennifer Fitzke and husband Jeff of Omaha, NE; Erik Bates and fiancé Pam Wright of St. Louis, MO; and Mitchell Darling and wife Diana of Omaha, NE; great grandsons Jayden and Justin Fitzke, step grandchildren, Craig and Anne Dewey and Bryson of Estes Park, CO; Heath and Mandy Dewey of Fort Morgan, CO and Amber and Jason Gleason and son Parker of Salina, KS; sisters: Joan Albertson of Belleville, KS; Doris Bailey of Holdrege, NE; Leota Heiden of Superior, NE; and Carol Clyde of Superior, NE; brother Rex Darling and wife Fran of Worcester, Mass., sisters-in -law, Dixie Whitney of Superior, NE and Nancy Patton of Superior, NE; brother-in-law Chester Ewer and special family friends Julie Cassens, Alicia Reed and Shelby Ferguson and host of relatives and friends. Burial with military honors was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, NE.
