He was a lifetime member of the Superior V.F.W. and American Legion and a member of the Superior Eagles Club. Wilbur retired at the age of 61 years after 30 years of employment for the Ideal Basic Industries, Superior. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, one nephew, Michael Clyde, three brothers-in-law, Sam Mohler, Daryl Snell and Ora Cholson (sic). Survivors include hs seven sisters, Mrs. Irene Gholson (sic), Mrs. Willis (Leota) Heiden, Mrs. Max (Geneva) Sloane, Mrs. Daryl (Carol) Clyde, all of Superior, Mrs. Chester (Helen) Ewer of Guide Rock, Mrs. Rex (Joan) Albertson of Republic, Kansas and Mrs. Harold (Doris) Baylie of Burr Oak, Kansas; three brothers, Doyle and Max of Superior and Rex of Worcester, Mass.; six brothers-in-laws, three sisters-in-laws, 33 nieces and nephews, 48 great nieces and nephews, one aunt, Lelia Ahlvers. Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 24 from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel, Superior. Rev. Marion Knoell officiated. Pallbearers were Elmer Druba, Larry Juergens, Clair Sloane, Richard Dominy, Dwayne Dostelman, Gene Woods. Honorary pallbearers were Harold Sharp, Scott McKee, Joe Schendt, J.W. Healey, Dean Fenimore and Charles Ulsh. "One Day At A Time" and "Beyond The Sunset" were sung by Carol Shambaugh with Carlita Price as organist. Burial was in the Evergreen Cemetery, Superior.
