Description	:	Maxine M. Cave, 91, of Genoa, Nebraska, died Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at The Lighthouse of Lakeside Village in Omaha, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, April 29, 10:30 A.M. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church with Father Bill L’Heureux celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in the Valley View Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. with a 7:00 P.M. vigil service all at the church. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 9:30 -10:30 A.M. at the church. Maxine was born to Philip and Mary “Dorothy” (Lassek) Borowiak on January 5, 1926, on the family farmhouse 3 miles south of Genoa. She attended St. Peter & Paul Catholic School, Krakow, District 39 country school in Nance County, and graduated from Genoa High School. On October 20, 1948, Maxine was united in marriage to William “Paul” Cave at Krakow. She worked for the Golden Rule Creamery, the Genoa National Bank, and worked in the Kitchen at Genoa Public Schools. Maxine was a member of St. Rose of Lima Altar Society, where she served as past president and worked on the funeral committee. She was also a member of the Genoa Historical Museum, Genoa Indian School Foundation, and the American Legion Auxiliary. Maxine was an excellent seamstress, having won an award for best seamstress in Home Economics, and enjoyed doing genealogy for the Borowiak, Lassek, Cave, and Schleich families, baking, reading, housekeeping, and taking care of her flower and vegetable gardens.
