Description	:	May Catherine Walker, daughter of Sarah and James H. Lefler, was born March 1, 1871, in Breckenridge, Mo. She passed away at her home in Fairmont May 25, 1953, at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 25 days. She moved to York county with her parents in her early childhood. She passed away at her home in Fairmont May 25, 1953, at the age of 82 years, 2 months and 25 days. She moved to York county with her parents in her early childhood. November 16, 1892, she was married to James F. Walker of St. Joseph, Mo., and to this union were born two children, a son, James Allen, who died in infancy, and a daughter, Bertha Margaret. After her husband's death in 1906, Mrs. Walker moved with her daughter to Fairmont, where she has since resided. For 25 years she was an employee of the Lincoln Telephone Co., retiring at the age of 65. She was a member and active worker in the Royal Neighbors and Rebekah lodges until the time she was confined to her home because of illness. Mrs. Walker was always interested in the civic and church activities of the community. She united with the United Brethren church of York in her early youth. Three sisters, Bertha Bridgman, Lucy Malsbary of Fairmont, and Nora Pinneo of York and one brothers, James Arthur Lefler of Fairmont, preceded her in death. Mrs. Walker is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Bertha Bender of Chicago, and her brother, Roy F. Lefler of Fremont, and many nieces and nephews. She was a devoted and loving mother. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Willard F. Paye and Rev. Norman Smitheram, were held at the Federated church in Fairmont Wednesday, May 27, at 2 p.m. Interment was in the Fairmont Cemetery.
