Description	:	Lucy Lefler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lefler, was born at Traer, Tama County, Iowa, on the 9th of October, 1876. At the age of three, she came with her parents to Nebraska, locating in York county. In 1897 the family moved to Fillmore county, just west of Exeter. On June 25, 1901, she was united in marriage to Warren W. Malsbary and with him moved into the home in which they have since resided. Read More	Lucy Lefler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Lefler, was born at Traer, Tama County, Iowa, on the 9th of October, 1876. At the age of three, she came with her parents to Nebraska, locating in York county. In 1897 the family moved to Fillmore county, just west of Exeter. On June 25, 1901, she was united in marriage to Warren W. Malsbary and with him moved into the home in which they have since resided. To this union three children were born--Velma L., Helen M. and Wayne M. On May 11, 1902, she united with the Fairmont Congregational church, in which she has been an active worker. Mrs. Malsbary had been in poor health for some time before she was confined to her bed. During this time she found it rather difficult to get about, but enjoyed sharing with her family and friends the worship and other activities of her church. She had been confined to her bed since March 10, 1934. She passed on to the better life, Friday afternoon, July 20, 1934 at 2:1 p.m. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, three children, Velma, Helen and Wayne; two sisters, Mrs. Mae Walker of Fairmont, and Mrs. William Pinneo of York,; two brothers, J. Arthur Lefler of Fairmont and Roy E. Lefler of Hastings; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Sunday evening, meeting at the house at 5:30 and at the Federated church at six. They were conducted by her pastor, Rev. Isaac Cassel, assisted by Rev. J. Henry Stitt of the Methodist church. Mrs. William Boren, Mrs. Clyde Rupe, Harold Brown and Monroe Usher sang two quartet numbers, "Day is Dying in the West" and "Some Time We'll Understand." Gerald Lefler, a nephew of Hastings, sang "Prayer Perfect." Miss Velda Brown accompanied them. The pallbearers were nephews of Mrs. Malsbary, Lloyd, Ralph and Claude Lefler and Dwight, Frank and Henry Bridgman. Interment was in the Fairmont cemetery. Mrs. Malsbary had been a patient sufferer since February and a large attendance of neighbors and friends were present to share in sympathy in the sorrow which has been theirs. Relatives and friends from out of town attending the funeral were: Lloyd Lefler, Doris Riddle, Mrs. Hubert Bender and E.L. Malsbary of Lincoln; Roy Lefler and family and Mr. and Mrs. F.G. Johnson of Hastings; F.M. Thompson and family of Hansen;; William Pinneo and family, Mrs. Verna Pinneo, Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Pinneo and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Pinneo of York and Mr. and Mrs. Dwight Bridgman of Hooper.
