Description	:	Meda Elen (sic) Shipley, daughter of Andrew and Sadie Shipley, was born April 4, 1892 and departed this life Sept. 1, 1964 after a week's illness in the York Hospital at the age of 72 years, 4 months, and 28 days. December 4, 1912, she was united in marriage to J.R. Kinnison in Nelson, Nebr. To this union were born one daughter, Mildred (Mrs. Carl Twist) Humboldt, Nebraska, and one son, Robert Lee Kinnison, Gothenburg, Nebr. One infant son preceded her in death. When a small child, she lived at Franklin, Nebr. and later moved to Angus, Nebr. She spent most of her married life on the farm near Edgar, Nebr., except the last four years spent in Humboldt since retiring from the farm. She was a member of the United Brethren Church of Angus since her childhood. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, her daughter and son and three grandchildren, (NOTE: I think this should read brothers) Alberta Johnson, Claudine Carrell, Clause Shipley, one sister Opal Kinnison besides a host of relatives and friends. Her mother and father, one infant son, four brothers and one step-sister preceded her in death. Services were conducted September 14, 1964 at the Angus EUB Church with Rev. Clifford Bahr officiating. Music was by Mrs. Lovena Beck and Mrs. Mary Ann Guren who sang "God Be With You Till We Meet Again" and "Rock of Ages." Mrs. Viva Ferebee was accompanist. Pall bearers were nephews Byron Kinnison, Laverle Shipley, Garth Melvin, Rolland Shipley, Chester Kinnison and Archie Melvin. Flower bearers were nieces, Mrs. Herbert Peters, Mrs. Frank Barrett, Mrs. Cecil Burling (sic - should be Spurling) and Mrs. Merton McCartney. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, September 10, 1964; pg. 4
