Shipley, was born on a farm near Edgar Nebr., on July 1, 1887 and departed this life on June 1, 1933 at the age of 45 years and 11 months. He was married March 25, 1914, to Miss Norma Ellen Sigman, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Laban Sigman. To this union was born one daughter, Waneva Maxine. Those surviving him are, his wife and daughter, his father, A .T. Shipley; four brothers, Roy and Lemuel of Edgar, Claus of Oak, Nebr. and Glennie of Fairbury, Nebr.; two sisters, Mrs. Meda Kinnison of Angus, Nebr., and Mrs. Opal Kinnison of Akron, Colo. Many friends and acquaintances also mourn his going. His mother one brother and a sister preceded him in death. Most of his life has been spent in farming, with the exception of a few years spent in the dray business in Edgar, several years ago. While engaged in this pursuit he was on honored member of the Edgar Volunteer Fire Department and was present at the firemen's reunion and banquet held some months ago. He was a kind and considerate husband and father, As a neighbor he left little to be desired. To know him was to love him, and he will leave a vacant place that cannot be filled. Life Life! I, know not what thou art, But know that thou and I must part, And when, or how, or where we met I know to me's a secret yet. Life! We've been long together Thru pleasant and thru cloudy weather, "Tis hard to part when friends are dear, Perhaps 'twill cost a sigh, a tear. Then steal away, give little warning, Choose thine own time; Say not Good Night--but in some brighter clime Bid me Good Morning-- Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon June 3, at 2 p.m. at the farm home and at 2:30 at the M. E. Church in Edgar. Rev S. G. Rasmusson, pastor, had charge of the services The Methodist Church male quartet sang. Interment was made in the Edgar Cemetery.
