Melcenia May Ackers was born near Olean, Mo., May 20, 1886, and was married to W.J. Francis Sept. 13, 1925. Mrs. Francis is survived by her husband, W.J. Melcenia May Ackers was born near Olean, Mo., May 20, 1886, and was married to W.J. Francis Sept. 13, 1925. Mrs. Francis is survived by her husband, W.J. Francis of Eldon, Her father, John Ackers* of High Point and four sisters, Mrs. Vesper Opie of Paris, Mo., Mrs. Edgar Bond of Eldon, Lottie and Ella Ackers at home in Spring Garden. Her mother had preceded her in death three years ago. Besides the immediate family relatives, Mrs. Francis is survived by a number of nieces and nephews and many friends. She accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with the Mount Herman Baptist Church at the age of 13. Later her membership was moved to the Spring Garden Baptist Church where she continued a faithful member until her death. *Other records indicate her father was Oscar Lee Ackers.
