Read More	The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, May 29, 1936 - pg 1 Mrs C. G. Cottle Mellie Frances Cottle was the only daughter of Thomas E. and Rachel M. Casterline. She was born October 28, 1870, at Lacon county (sic), Illinois and passed away at Edgar Nebraska., May 24, 1936, at the age of 65 years, 6 months and 26 days. She moved to Edgar, Nebraska with her parents in 1877. She was married to Charles G. Cottle, July 32, 1901, at Edgar, Nebraska and became the mother of Mr Cottle's two children, Beulah and Howard, for whom she tenderly cared and mothered. At an early age she confessed her faith in Christ as her Saviour. When very young she united with the Presbyterian church (sic) of Edgar Nebraska. For a number of years she was organist of the Sunday school and church and was active in the young people's work as well as with the Ladies' Aid as long as health and strength permitted. She still clung to her faith to the last. She leaves to mourn her departure her husband, C. G. Cottle, one daughter Mrs Louie Schlichtman of Edgar, one son, Howard W. Cottle of Omaha, one brother, Frank Casterline of Tipton, Iowa; two nephews, Lloyd Casterline also of Tipton, Iowa and Clyde Casterline of Wymore, Nebraska, a niece Mrs Wm. Mathews of Tipton, Iowa; two grandchildren, Shirley and Billy Schlichtman of Edgar, Nebraska and host of friends. Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church (sic) of Edgar Nebraska, Wednesday, May 27, 1936, at 10:00 a.m. Rev T. S. Hughes officiated. A quartette composed of Mrs W. R. Organ, Mrs T. S. Hughes, J. G. Walley and J. M. McGhie, with Eileen Delaney at the organ, furnished the music. The pallbearers were Charles Moore, W. J. Goesch, F. A. Westering, E. L. Smock, O. A. Schlichtman and J. G. Walley. Interment was made in the Edgar cemetery.
