Description	:	Melvin Lee Vetterick was born June 19, 1926 to Allan and Truth (Stoner) Vetterick near Massena, Iowa. He died at his home on September 6, 1991 near Orient, Iowa at the age of 65. He grew up in the Massena area graduating from Massena High School. On March 15, 1949 he married Virginia Bannister at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, Iowa. They had 3 children. Read More	Melvin Lee Vetterick was born June 19, 1926 to Allan and Truth (Stoner) Vetterick near Massena, Iowa. He died at his home on September 6, 1991 near Orient, Iowa at the age of 65. He grew up in the Massena area graduating from Massena High School. On March 15, 1949 he married Virginia Bannister at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Fontanelle, Iowa. They had 3 children. Melvin farmed all of his life on a farm near Massena, Iowa and on his present farm north of Williamson, which he and Virginia had moved to in 1950. He loved going camping, fishing, and hunting. Melvin was an Army Veteran; a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church; the Masonic Circle Lodge No. 555. of Prescott; the Shriners; and the Williamson American Legion Post No. 719, serving as Commander for 3 years. He was also one of the pioneers starting rural water in Adair County. He was on the Southern Iowa Rural Water Association for 16 years and was their Board Chairman. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carol Louise who died in infancy; father-in-law, Harold Bannister; and brother-in-law, Everett Raasch. He is survived by his wife; son, Barry Lee (Wanda) Vetterick and daughter Patricia Louise (Roger) Roberts; mother-in-law, Louise Winger; sister, Roberta Raasch; and 4 grandchildren.
