Description	:	Merle E. 'Pooch' Pryor, Jr. (21 June 1931 - 08 June 2012) * Merle E. "Pooch" Pryor, Jr.**, 80, of Mulberry, KS, passed away at 1:35 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2012, at Mercy Hospital, Ft. Scott, KS. He was born June 21, 1931, at Pittsburg, KS, the son of Merle E. and Vida (Prince) Pryor. He attended area schools and graduated from Mulberry High School in 1949. 'Pooch' Pryor, Jr. (21 June 1931 - 08 June 2012) * Merle E. "Pooch" Pryor, Jr.*, 80, of Mulberry, KS, passed away at 1:35 p.m., Friday, June 8, 2012, at Mercy Hospital, Ft. Scott, KS. He was born June 21, 1931, at Pittsburg, KS, the son of Merle E. and Vida (Prince) Pryor. He attended area schools and graduated from Mulberry High School in 1949. Mr. Pryor served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On June 5, 1954, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Patrick at Mulberry, KS. She survives of the home. Mr. Pryor retired as General Vice President of the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers. He had held the position from 1977 until his retirement in 1993. Membership was held in the Hutchinson-Sayre American Legion Post No. 176 of Mulberry. Mr. Pryor loved farming and especially spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Nancy Murphy and her husband, Pat of Arma, KS, and Vicky Hoffman and her husband, Rod of Mulberry, KS, step-mother, Earldeen Pryor of Arma, KS, two brothers, Ted Pryor of Mulberry, KS, and Jim Pryor of Mindenmines, MO, one sister, Jeanette Cline of Pittsburg, KS, six grandchildren and their spouses, Aaron and Kerri Murphy, Quentin Murphy and Krista Grover, Rodney and Shannon Hoffman, Jr., Becky and Matt Mutz, Trisha and Chris Moore, and Bryan Hoffman and Terri Pingree, and fourteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Mary Lou Mapes and an infant sister. A service for Mr. Pryor is set for 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at the Brenner Mortuary with Craig Lusker conducting the service. Burial will follow in the Rosebank Cemetery, Mulberry, KS. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 p.m., Monday, at the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg. Friends may call at the funeral home after 1:00 p.m., Monday, to sign the register book. The family suggests memorials to the Great-Grandchildren Education Endowment Fund at M and I Bank. These may be left at or mailed to the Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th St., Pittsburg, KS. 66762. Friends may leave condolences online at www.brennermortuary.com. Arrangements are under the direction of the Brenner Mortuary, Pittsburg, KS.
