Read More	Mervin Wade Friend March 21, 1931 - June 23, 2015 Mervin Wade Friend, 84, of Friendsville, MD, died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at his home with his family by his side. He was under the care of Hospice of Garrett County after a long battle with Alzheimer's disease. Wade was born March 21, 1931, in Friendsville, he was the son of the late Huston and Opal (Friend) Friend. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Jim and infant sister, Lucille. Wade was owner/operator of Wade Friend Trucking for many years, as well as a farmer. In later years, after retiring from trucking, he was able to spend all his time farming and tending to the cattle that he loved. He is survived by his wife, Jean (Lawson) Friend; his daughter, Sandi Wakefield and husband, Larry; granddaughter, Lohri Kreger and husband, Mark and Lohri's daughter, Holly Sisler and friend, Ben Orendorff and his daughter, Leena; granddaughter, Amanda and son, Devon; grandson, Larry Wakefield and wife, Nelly and their children, Carson and Vanessa. He is also survived by his brother, Huston Friend, Jr. and two sisters, Judy Burd and Joann Smith. Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 943 Second Ave., Friendsville, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Services will be conducted in the Blooming Rose United Methodist Church, where he was a member, at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2015 with Pastor Dana Umbel officiating. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Blooming Rose Cemetery. Pallbearers are Larry Wakefield, Sr., Larry Wakefield, Jr., Mark Kreger, Carson Wakefield and Ben Orendorff. Expressions of sympathy may be directed to the Hospice of Garrett County.
