Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Mike Thompson, Chuck Hinrichsen, Jason Thompson, Peter Noriega, Dan Hoffman, Ed Grubbs, Mark Thompson and Sammy Nanfito. Michael A. Thompson, the son of George and Mabel (Boyle) Thompson, was born November 29, 1903 at Hubbard. He died June 6, 1991 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton. He attended grade school in Holt County and when his family moved to Creighton, he attended St. Ludger Academy. On June 26, 1930 he married Mary E. Logue at Willis. He worked several years as a motor grader operator and bought a farm five miles east and one mile north of Creighton. He was a member of Knights of Columbus Council #1238 of Creighton and St. Ludger Catholic Church, where he did volunteer work and was an extraordinary minister of the Eucharist. Survivors include his wife, Mary; children, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thompson of Lincoln, Mr. and Mrs. Darrell (Claire) Hoffman of Plainview, Mr. and Mrs. Bill (Margaret) Hinrichsen of Sergant Bluff, IA, Mr. and Mrs. Louis (Jean) Toth of San Diego, CA, Mrs. Rose Grubbs of Lincoln and Mr. and Mrs. Sam (Pat) Nanfito of Omaha; daughters-in-law, Mrs. Alice Thompson of Mason City, IA and Kathy Anderson of Coldridge; 45 grandchildren and 40 great grandchildren, one brother and three sisters. He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Philip and George, daughters, Georgia Kay and Cecelia and a grandson in infancy, three brothers and two sisters. ...The Creighton News 12 June 1991
