Officiants were Fr. Mel Wiese and Fr. John Rizzo. He was born March 5, 1906 at Jackson, the son of George W. and Mary Mabel (Boyle) Thompson. He died Sunday, May 29 at Lundberg Memorial Hospital in Creighton. He lived most of his life in the Creighton area. On November 21, 1942 he was married to Dorothea Gasser in Brownsville, Tex., while he was serving in the Armed Forces. He was a carpenter and farmer until he retired in 1984 at the age of 78. Mr. Thompson was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, the American Legion and the St. Ludger Church Choir. More recently he was an active member of the Senior Citizens Club. Survivors include his wife, Dorthea; two daughters, Jeanne Henery of Norfolk and Judy Thompson of Denver, Colo.; three sons, Paul of Columbus, John of Brandon, Miss. and Joe of Lincoln; three sisters, Leona Niday of Tulare, Calif., Mrs. Ray (Georgina) Zuroski of Omaha and Mrs. Joe (Shirley) Pruss of Canago Park, Calif.; two brothers, Michael of Creighton and John of Lincoln; 10 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
