Description	:	Funeral Held Tuesday for George Thompson,87 Funeral services for George W. Thompson, 87, who died Dec. 15 at the local hospital, were conducted Tuesday morning at St. Ludger Catholic Church. The Rev. Roland Peschel officiated at the requiem mass and the Rev. Paul Schneider at the committal rites. Pallbearers were all grandsons, Dan Thompson, Mike Thompson, George Thompson, Jim Thompson, Jim Sandoz and Tom Hutchinson. George Wilson Thompson was born July 4, 1876 at Glendale, Wis. to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew R. Thompson. Most of his early life was spent in Dixon and Cedar counties. He married Mabel Boyle at Jackson on Oct. 6, 1900. They homesteaded in Holt County from 1913 to 1916, then moved to the Creighton community, which has since been his home. He farmed until retiring. Surviving are three sons, Michael and James of Creighton and Sgt. John Thompson of North Platte; five daughters, Mrs. Ray (Leona) Niday of Tulare, Calif., Pearl Thompson of Fremont, Mrs. E.T. (Georgia) Sandoz of Omaha, Mrs. Joe (Shirley) Pruss and Mrs. Brad (Dorothy) Hutchinson of Creighton; 42 grandchildren; 54 great grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Rhoda Bouck of Denver, Colo. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1944; two sons, Anthony in 1960 and George in 1963; nine brothers and sisters. ...The Creighton News 26 Dec 1963
