Svoboda, Mary Hrabak MIKE CASLAVKA DIES AT 69 AT HOME IN CLUTIER Mike Caslavka, widely known and respected resident of Tama county since pioneer days, died Saturday evening at his home in Clutier. He was critically ill only three days but had been in failing health for the last six months, suffering from heart disease and other ailments. He was 69. Born in York township Feb. 16, 1866, the decedent was a son of Joseph and Frances Caslavka. The family later moved to Carroll township, where he was married on June 8, 1890, to Frances Svoboda. The couple lived at Traer for a short time, then bought a farm near Clutier, where they lived until they moved to town in 1916. Mrs. Caslavka died Feb. 2, 1922. The couple had no children, but adopted a niece, Hattie Caslavka, as a daughter. She is now Mrs. Frank Yanda, of this com¬ munity. Two brothers, Joe and Frank, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Weaver, preceded Mr. Caslavka in death. The funeral service was held here Tuesday morning at the Immaculate Conception church, conducted by the Rev. Father Thom as Vopatek, and burial was in St. Vaclav cemetery. Out-of-town relatives here for the funeral included Miss Mary Caslavka, of Chicago; M. A. Caslavka, of Minden Mines, Mo.; Mr. and Mrs. John Borisky, of Tama; Mrs. Kate O’Hearn, of Detroit, Mich.; Miss Evelyn Caslavka, of Martelle, Ia.; Mr. and Mrs. Leo Reiter and Otto Buhreman, of Hudson; and the Ed Earhart family, of Marshalltown. Pall bearers were Joe Weaver, Peter Weaver, Joe Caslavka, Albert Caslavka, Will Caslavka and Peter Caslavka.
