Mrs. Caslavka was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Svoboda and was born near Vining in August 1872. Read More	father: Jos. Svoboda mother: Mary Hrabak Death of an Oneida Pioneer Mrs. Michael Caslavka Sr. died of cancer Thursday at midnight at her home in Clutier. She had not been well for several years. An operation was performed a few months ago but she failed rapidly. Mrs. Caslavka was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Svoboda and was born near Vining in August 1872. In 1889, she was married to Michael Caslavka, and for a number of years they lived on the homestead in Carroll township, later moving to Traer for a few years, then onto a farm near Clutier, and six years ago they moved into their handsome new home in Clutier where they have lived since. Not having any children of their own they adopted their niece, Harriet Caslavka in her infancy and have brought her up with as much patience as any mother would her own daughter. Besides her husband and daughter, she leaves to mourn her aged mother, Mrs. Dostal of Clutier and six sisters, Mrs. James Simek of Tama, Mrs. Ed O’ Hearn of Cedar rapids, Mrs. Geo Scholey of Omaha, Mesdames Joe and Frank Krezek and Fred Powell. These and many other relatives and friends will cherish the memory of this good woman, who so faithfully met their duties in life, ever faithful and helpful in the home a kind neighborly and generous friends, a devoted and loving wife and mother. Short funeral services were held at the home in Clutier Sunday morning at 9 o'clock by Rev. Father Vopatek, then at St. Vaclav church, where interment was made, as was her wish. Six nephews acted as pall bearers. There was a large attendance of both relatives and friends. Those from a distance were Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Scholey, of Omaha, and daughter, Mrs. Beatrice Davies, of Valisca, Iowa: Mr. and Mrs. Ed. O’Hearn, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Mary Simek, Tama; Mrs. J. W. Blazek, of Chelsea, Mr. and Mrs. John Boriskey, Potter, and Joe Boriskey, Montour.
