Description	:	The Funeral Mass for Mike Colgan was conducted from the All Saints Catholic Church, Holdrege, Monday, March 11, 1991, 10 am with the Rev. John Zastrow officiating. Interment was in the Alma Cemetery. The Rosary Service was held at the Nelson-Harris Funeral Home, Sunday evening at 7 pm. Mr. Colgan, 37, Holdrege, died Saturday at his farm near Huntley. Mr. Colgan, 37, Holdrege, died Saturday at his farm near Huntley. He was born on July 10, 1953 in Alma, Neb., one of five children of Vincent and Phyllis (Kaup) Colgan. He attended elementary school in Huntley until his family moved to Holdrege in 1961. He graduated from the Holdrege High School with the class of 1971. In 1975 he graduated from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He was affiliated with the Sigma Chi Fraternity at the University. After his graduation he returned to Holdrege and farmed the family farm in Harlan County. On Aug. 19 1981, he married Marilyn Hodges and to this union came two daughters, Melissa and Michelle. He was a member of the All Saints Catholic Church, and was presently serving on the Alma Cooperative Oil Board. Besides his wife and daughters, survivors include his parents, two brothers; John and his wife, Susan, Lenexa, Kan., and Jim and his wife, Betsy, Manteca, Calif.; two sisters: Jean Phillips and her husband, Steve, Charlotte, NC and Cindy Potthoff and her husband, David, Lincoln; his maternal grandmother, Helen Kaup, Holdrege; his father and mother-in-law, Charles and Margaret Hodges, Lawrence, Kan.; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Floyd Kaup; and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Colgan. The Nelson-Harris Funeral Home of Holdrege is in charge of arrangements.
