Description	:	Dec 14, 2005 Michael L. Kautz, age 61, of Yankton, passed away early Monday morning, December 12, 2005, at the Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton, SD. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at the Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton, with Rev. John Fischer officiating. Burial will be in the St. Boniface Parish Cemetery, Idylwilde. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mike was born December 11, 1944, in Yankton, SD to Leon and Loretta (Dangel) Kautz in Yankton, SD. He attended Sacred Heart Grade School and Yankton High School. After high school, he served in the US Army for two years with an honorable discharge. He was married July 2, 1968, to Donna Schlaefli. They divorced July 2, 1970. He worked at Gurney Seed and Nursery and the Human Services Center, but his life's ambition was his music. He organized the band "White Lightning" and made it a very popular band in the Yankton area. Due to Mike's health problems, the band had to break up, but is still remembered by many for its lively entertainment. Mike is survived by his son, Robert Brandon of Sioux Falls, his brother, Tom Kautz and his companion, Mary Anderson of Yankton, SD, nieces, nephews and very special friend, Don Stanage. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Loretta Kautz.
