Description	:	Michael was the son of Thomas Madigan and Margaret Morgan. He did not marry. For some time past Mr. Madigan had been in poor health and was taken to the hospital a couple weeks prior to his deaths. His ailment was dropsy of the heart and from which he had been a patient for many years. After being in the hospital a short time he improved so much that he was thinking of returnng to the farm. In his case as in many others of its kind, death came when least anticipated. The deceased was born in Pennsylania in 1861. At the age of 18 years he moved with his parents to Illinois, here he remained until 1888, when he located in this county a few miles east of this city, where he has resided since. Mr. Madigan was never married but kept house by himself receiving such assistance from his sisters as was necessary. He was of a quiet unassuming disposition and looked upon the bright side of life. He was always cheerful and loyal to his friends. He was a frugal and industrious man and by his labors had succeeded in acquiring some property. But for years past he was far from being a well man which no doubt had a great influence on moulding his character. He was man capable of making friends and all who come within his acquaintance have but kind words for him and express their sorrow for his departure. He is survived by two brothers, T.A. Madigan of this locality and John Madigan of Moultier County, Illinois, the later, owing to illness, was unable to be present at the funeral. His sisters are: Mrs. James Ryan and Miss Mary this locality and Sister Ellen who is in convent at Springfield, Illinois.
