Description	:	MICHAEL PETER SPRING Michael Peter Spring, son of Arnold and Mittie Spring was born January 2, 1879 at Rutlgen, Switzerland, which Is near Berne, Switzerland. He came to the United States with his parents in July 1883, settling near Brooks, Iowa, where most of his life was spent. On March 6, 1907 he was united in marriage to Monti McClelland in Jasper Township, Adams County, Iowa. To this union one daughter, Margaret was born. Read More	MICHAEL PETER SPRING Michael Peter Spring, son of Arnold and Mittie Spring was born January 2, 1879 at Rutlgen, Switzerland, which Is near Berne, Switzerland. He came to the United States with his parents in July 1883, settling near Brooks, Iowa, where most of his life was spent. On March 6, 1907 he was united in marriage to Monti McClelland in Jasper Township, Adams County, Iowa. To this union one daughter, Margaret was born. He was preceded in death by his wife Monte, his father and mother, and two brothers, Arnold and Michael, an infant. On January 19, 1915 he was married to Jessie McClelland and they lived on a farm in the Mt. Zion community until November 1954 when they moved to Lenox, Iowa. He passes away at his home in Lenox, Iowa on August 6, 1957 at the age of 78 years, 7 months, and 4 days. He made his confession of faith to Jesus Christ and became a member of the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church in 1904 and has been a faithful member ever since. He serves his church in many different ways, being the ruling member and clerk of the session for many years. He served the community in the same whole hearted way. He is survived by his wife, Jessie of the home, his daughter, Margaret Wilson of Lenox, Iowa, three brothers, John of Villisca, Jake of Brooks, William of Corning, and one sister, Mattie Opitz of Herington, Kansas, one son-in-law, Lowell Wilson of Lenox, three grandchildren, Barbara Osleckla of Des Moines, Iowa, Leland and Loraine Wilson of Lenox. He will be missed greatly by his family and his many, many friends. Funeral services were held Friday August 9, at 2 p.m. at the Mt. Zion Presbyterian Church with burial in the Methodist Grove Cemetery. Adams County Free Press, August 15, 1957
