Pall Bearers were Paul Bauer, Paul Roberts, Paul Spring, Wade Scholey, Rolly Spring, and Dale Moser. Flower bearers were Elenor Shaver and Mabel Williams. John Gotleip Spring was born to Arnold and Mattie Spring on July 20, 1881 in Bern Switzerland. He came to the United States with is parents when he was two years old. He passed away at his home at the age of 86 years, 7 months, and 15 days. John Spring was united in marriage to Cora Belle Roberts on April 10, 1910 at Brooks, Iowa. To this union were born three sons and one daughter. The family lived throughout its entire life at Mr. Zion and Guss and in 1950, Mr. and Mrs. Spring moved to Villisca and lived in their Villisca home until their death. Mr. and Mrs. Spring celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary in 1960. John was preceded in death by his wife, Cora Bell on November 28, 1966, a son, Glen, in 1960, his parents, two brothers, Mike and Jake, and his sister, Mattie. He is survived by his three children, Clyde and his wife Winnie of Prescott, Iowa, Roy and his wife Maravene of Brooks, Iowa, Margeleen and her husband Ed Naven of Brooks, Iowa; 13 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, his brother, Billy Spring of Corning, Iowa.
