"Tucker" Copeland, 71 year-old retired cook for the Mooresville School District and Kendrick Hospital at Mooresville, died Sunday at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She had been a patient for five weeks. For two years, she had been ill, and she made her home at 163 White Lick Rd., Mooresville. Mrs. Copeland was a cook for the school district for 17 years, while she was hospital cook for nine years. She was a member of the Mooresville Friends Church and was a 50 year member of the Brooklyn Order of the Eastern Star 292. She also had membership in the Hospital and Institutional Federal Food Service. The daughter of Morton V. and Alsa Allen Keller, she was born in Morgan County Nov. 9, 1910. She had lived here most of her life. On Sept. 8, 1928, she married Lee Copeland, who survives. Other survivors include two sons, Eugene and Dwayne, and a daughter, Phyllis Smith, all of Mooresville. Eleven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, a brother, Robert Keller of Mooresville; and a sister Estie Dean Clark of Martinsville, also survive. The funeral will be Wednesday morning at 10:30 at the Carlisle and Son Funeral Chapel in Mooresville. The Rev. Rex Miller will officiate, and burial will follow in White Lick Cemetery. There will be an OES service on Tuesday evening at Carlisle's. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 7 to 9 o'clock this evening and from 2 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday.
