Read More	Progress Review, La Porte City, Iowa Thursday, May 13, 1943, Page 1 Mrs. Woodley Passes Away Late Saturday Life-Long Resident of This Community Dies Following Lingering Illness; Rites Tuesday Mrs. Michael Woodley died at 10:10 p.m. Saturday, after a month’s serious illness, in the home of Mr. and Mrs. L.J. Tutt, where she has made her home for several months. Mrs. Woodley had been in failing health for some time. As Mildred M. Marshall, she was the daughter of Ellen and Henry Marshall, born December 8, 1872 in Cedar township, making her 70 years old at the time of her death. On February 8, 1909, she was married to Charles Gay Woodley in La Porte City, and lived here all her life. She was preceded in death by her husband on March 17, 1937, two sisters, Mrs. Della Mae on August 24, 1932 and Mrs. Luella Ashley on January 29, 1936, and her parents. Mrs. Woodley was a member of the Presbyterian church a past chief of the Pythian Sister lodge and a member of the woman’s federated Tourist club since 1899. She was a charter member of the Tourist club. Her only surviving relatives are two nephews, Plato R. Ashley of Siren, Wis. and Keith Kline of La Porte City; great nephews, Lieut. Courtney P. Kline of Denver, Colo., and a great niece, Patricia Anderson, of Ft. Dodge, Ia. The funeral service was held on Tuesday afternoon at the Barnhart and Johannsen funeral home. Burial was in West View cemetery. Rev. Frederick Passler of the Presbyterian church officiated, with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Burr singing selections, accompanied by Mrs. C.A. Brust. The casket bearers were William Bahr, H.G. Esher, C.A. Brust, John Goon, Roy F. Hawkins and Charles Oren. Those from out-of-town attending the services were Robert Anderson and daughter, Patricia, of Siren, Wis., and Lieut. Courtney Kline of Denver, Colo. and Plato Ashley of Ft. Dodge, Iowa.
