She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Naples Lutheran Church. She was united in marriage to Hans P. Hansen in North Dakota on July 10, 1918. They then moved to the Willow Lake and Naples communities where they farmed until 1948. Hansen Mildred Mary Steele was born on December 18, 1894 in North Dakota to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Steele. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of the Naples Lutheran Church. She was united in marriage to Hans P. Hansen in North Dakota on July 10, 1918. They then moved to the Willow Lake and Naples communities where they farmed until 1948. She has resided in Vienna until the last eight months when she had to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Alfred Johnson, because of health. She passed away at a Watertown hospital after a lingering illness on Thursday, April 8, 1971 at the age of 76 years, 4 months, and 20 days. Mrs. Hansen is survived by three sons, Henry of Naples, Harold of Vienna, and Robert of Sioux Falls; three daughters, Mrs. Alfred (Anna) Johnson of Vienna, Mrs. Bill (Inger) Mussack of Stanton, Nebraska, and Mrs. Virgil (Gladys) Jorgensen of Webster City, Iowa; one brother, Walter Steele of California; and one sister, Mrs. Caroline Stanford of Florida; 25 grandchildren, and 4 great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant daughter, her parents, and one sister.
