The Earnest-Johnson Funeral Home in Marcus is assisting Milo's family with funeral arrangements. Milo Edward Miller was born on July 11, 1938, in Marcus, Iowa, to Aage L. and Marcella (Apel) Miller. He attended school at Marcus Public School and in Woodward, Iowa. Milo was a very special person and lived life to the fullest. He had a lawn service and was one of the original workers at the Cherokee Activity Center, where he worked for 45 years. Milo loved his work and learned many things, including cooking, cleaning, and taking care of his personal needs. This allowed him to live in his own apartment for many years, which brought him great pride and enjoyment. You could always find Milo walking with his flashlight or riding his bike or moped or even driving a car around Marcus. He was always in the thick of the action his hometown had to offer. Milo was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Marcus, where he was a bell ringer. He was a longtime member of the Marcus Fair Board and an unofficial greeter to all he met. His favorite hobbies were fishing, horseback riding, and dancing. Milo's hometown cherished him and made his life very meaningful in many ways. He loved everyone, and everyone was his friend. He is survived by his sister, Darlene Bennett and her companion Harvey Wentzel of South Sioux City, NE; a brother-in-law, Ivan Edwards of Primghar, IA; eight nieces; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rose Mongan and Ruth Edwards; a brother, Aage (A.J.) Miller; and a brother-in-law, John Mongan.
