Description	:	Milton McCarthy, 77, Akron, a resident of the Akron City Convalescent Care Center, died Sunday (Aug. 31, 1986) after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 6 at Schroeder funeral home in Akron. Rev. Benard Nelson, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran church in Akron will officiate. Mr. McCarthy was born Aug. 19, to John and Eva McCarthy in Aurelia, Iowa. He married Gertrude Talsma Feb. 2, 1929 in Sioux City. He was a retired custodian. Survivors include his wife, Gertrude of Akron; four sons, Don of Burlington, Iowa, John of Sacramento, Calif., Thomas of Orlando, Fla., and Mark of Gear Lake; two daughters, Mrs. Stanley (Janet) Anderson of Akron and Mrs. Russell (Mary) Pals of Gear Lake; one brother, Arthur of Puyallup, Wash.; two sisters, Mrs. Arnie (Mary) Larsen of San Leandro, Calif., and Mrs. Wayne (Agnes) Lonnecker of Napa Valley, Calif.; 12 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Gerald and two sisters, Lois and Doris.
