LAUNER DIES AT HOME IN CITY TODAY Mrs. Jacob Launer, 79, resident of Fremont for the past 58 years, died at the home of her son, Jacob, at 1515 North Irving avenue, early this morning. She had been ill since last Wednesday. Born September 8, 1858, in Mackelborg, Germany, Minnie Furstenau came to Fremont at the age of 21. She was married to Jacob Launer May 9, 1882. Throughout her married life, Mrs. Launer resided at 1150 North Union street. Nine children were born to the couple, three of whom preceded her in death. Mrs. Launer was a member of Trinity Lutheran church. Surviving are three sons, Frank and Jacob Launer of Fremont and Edwin Launer of Ogallala and three daughters, Mrs. Alfred Madsen and Mrs. William Weidner of Fremont and Mrs. B. H. Taylor of Omaha. Two brothers, Louis Furstenau, Plainview, and Carl Furstenau, Scribner; nine grandchildren and one great grandchild also survive. A sister, Mrs. Fred Ihlenfeldt and a brother, Fred Furstenau, and her husband, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Friday afternoon in the chapel of the Fred Bader Funeral Home, with Rev. William Brueggemann, Trinity Lutheran pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Ridge cemetery. ____ February 19, 1938, p. 2, col. 2 SERVICE HELD FOR MRS. JAKE LAUNER Friends and relatives filled the chapel of the Fred Bader Funeral Home yesterday when funeral services were held for Mrs. Minnie C. Launer, who died at the home of a son Tuesday. Rev. William Brueggemann, Trinity Lutheran pastor, officiated. William Sommers, accompanied by Prof. G. G. Grefe, sang “Who Knows How Near the End May Be,” and “In the Hour of Need.” The front of the chapel was banked with flowers. Pallbearers were Henry Peters, Henry Watson, Cecil Talcott, Will Grogan, A. R. Harrington and Chris Christensen. Burial was in Ridge cemetery.
