It is unclear what happened to her biological parents, who both each died approx age 28. Minnie apparently kept her birth name of Quick but Concordia newspaper articles often referred to her as Minnie Truesdell. In 1888, 19-yr old Minnie married E. M. Ravenscraft and at some point they moved to Ft. Worth, Texas, for his work (weather man). It was there, on NY Eve 1898, that Minnie experienced a sudden embolism and died a very short time later that day. Minnie Ravenscraft is listed among the Pleasant Hill Cemetery funeral records as buried in the cemetery; no location was given and personnel have been unable to determine a probable location. It was very much of a surprise when the news of the death of Mrs. E. M. Ravenscraft reached Concordia the first of the week. At the time of her death, which occurred December 31, Mr. and Mrs. Ravenscraft were living at Fort Worth, Texas, where Mr. Ravenscraft had charge of the government weather bureau station. The only sickness was a slight attack of the 'grip', and she was able to be about the house. She was preparing dinner when she was suddenly taken sick. The children were the only ones in the house at the time and they notified the neighbors. Medical assistance soon arrived but she lived only a short time. A singular coincidence is that Mrs. Ravenscraft's parents each died when they were twenty-eight, and she died at the same age. The body was brought to Concordia for burial and the funeral was conducted from the home of G. W. Marshall Tuesday afternoon by Rev. P.W. Hull. Her maiden name was Minnie Quick, although she was known in Concordia as Minnie Truesdell, having been an adopted daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Truesdell. Mrs. Truesdell was also her aunt. She was married about ten years ago to Mr. Ravenscraft, whom she leaves with two bright children, a girl of eight and a boy of four. Mrs. Ravenscraft had many friends in Concordia, all of whom enter into sympathy with the relatives over the loss of a good and true woman."
