Van liew, 77 , Excelsior Springs, Mo., formerly of Atchison died this morning at cushing Memorial Hospital at Leavenworth. She had been ill the last three months. Funeral services will be held at 11:a.m. Monday at Trinity Episcopal Church with the Rev. Max Tracey officiating. Burial; will be in sunset Memory Gardens. Childs, and she and William James Van Liew were married here Sep. 5 1912. They made their home in Atchison for a time and in 1944 moved to Excelsior Springs, Mo., where he operated several hotels, including the Colonial and Francis. until he retired in 1952. Mr. Van Liew died Apr. 18, 1968. Mrs. Van Liew was a member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church at Excelsior Sprimgs. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. John (Peggy) Magers, Leavenworth, and Mrs. Dorothy Birks, Grandview,; a son William James Van Liew Jr., Kansas City, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. P.K. Ingels, Blackwell, Okla.; a brother, Charlie Childs, Eugene, Ore.
