Lucas, of Stutigart, Arkansas, died at the home of her parents in Madrid, at 6:00 o'clock Saturday morning, June 16th, after a lingering illness with tuberculosis. Minnie Carrell was born in Madrid and grew to young womanhood there and was married to John Lucas, a son of Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Lucas, in 1892. Lucas, of Stutigart, Arkansas, died at the home of her parents in Madrid, at 6:00 o'clock Saturday morning, June 16th, after a lingering illness with tuberculosis. Minnie Carrell was born in Madrid and grew to young womanhood there and was married to John Lucas, a son of Mr. and Mrs. C.L. Lucas, in 1892. After their marriage they removed to Stutigart, Arkansas, where Mr. Lucas was engaged in the saw mill business. Several months ago her health began to fail, the family gave up housekeeping and she, with her young son (Guy), came to Madrid to the home of her parents, where everything possible was done to prolong her life, but to no avail. She gradually declined until death claimed her as stated last Saturday morning. Mrs. Lucas was a young woman of exceptionally charming character, beloved by a large circle of friends, who extend sincere sympathy to the young husband, son, parents and other relatives in their sad bereavement. The funeral services were held from the Christian church in Madrid Monday, June 18, and the remains laid to rest in the Madrid cemetery.
