Baer, 80. a long time resident of Knox County, died Sunday, Feb. 21 at the home of her son in Bellevue after an illness of several months. Funeral services were conducted at the Creighton Methodist Church Tuesday with the Rev. Richard T. Hartshorn, pastor of the Congregational-Baptist Church, officiating. Burial was in Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers were Albert Bonge, Alfred Oltjenbruns, Raymond Blair, Larry Beach, Carl Suhr and Wilbur Placek. Minnie Sonder was born April 11, 1884 at Osmond, a daughter of Nels and Lucile Sonder. Later she moved to Knox County and lived on a farm east of Bazile Mills. On Oct. 25, 1904 she was united in marriage to George M. Baer of Winnetoon. In 1910 she settled with her husband on a homestead at Sykes, Mont. and resided there until 1920, when they returned to Winnetoon. They lived there until moving to Verdigre in 1928, then to Creighton in 1942, where she resided until November, 1964, when she went to live with her son at Bellevue. Surviving are five sons, Willis E. of Bellevue, Gerald L. of Cleghorn, Ia., Rolan E. of Wilbur, Wash., Melvan L. of Sioux City, Ia. and Norman D. of Waynesboro, Tenn.; one daughter, Bernice Orszag of Cleveland, O.; 19 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Albert Suhr of Creighton and one brother, Jens Sonder of Creighton.
