Six years ago, she removed with her parents to La Porte City, Iowa, where she was united in marriage December 22, 1903 [1908], to Frank Shay. A year ago this spring they removed to Mt. Auburn, where she died April 28, 1912, aged 33 years, 9 months, 27 days. Impressive funeral services were held at Mt. Auburn Tuesday, April 30th, and her remains brought to this place, where services were also held from Grace M. E. church Wednesday afternoon and her remains laid to rest in Dayton cemetery. Besides the bereaved husband, she leaves a baby son, born May [April] 23rd, her parents, two sisters and three brothers. She was highly respected by all who knew her, and a host of lifelong friends sympathize with the afflicted family in their hour of sorrow. Contributor: abbylynn (47205881)∼MRS. FRANK SHEA TAKEN BY DEATH La Porte City, April 30 - In the death of Mrs. Frank Shea a beautiful and useful young life was closed, and the void that is made will be felt in a circle that is broader than her home. Minnie Pearl Snyder was born in Dayton, Ia., July 1, 1888, where she grew to young womanhood and there she received her education. Six years ago she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Godlip Snyder, to La Porte City, where for several years they managed the large farm known as the Fish farm, but at present they live on a farm near Mt. Auburn. She, with her husband, Frank Shea, to whom she was married in this city Dec. 22, 1908, have continued their residence at the paternal home. The immediate cause of death, which came Sunday at 4 p.m. was pneumonia. She leaves a little son, Godfrey, three days old, with the father. Her parents, Mr. and Mrs. G. Snyder, three brothers, Cyrus, William and Ezra, and two sisters, Mrs. Marguerite Fleming and Charlotte, at home, also survive. Mrs. Shea was a member of the Women's Relief corps of this city and only recently withdrew her membership in the Yoomen lodge. She was popular in social circles, being a musician always willing to assist when asked. The kindness and sympathy of the members of these organizations, as well as that of her many friends, are extended to the bereaved ones. Mrs. Shea was a member of the Evangelical church and a faithful Christian, loved by all who knew her. The funeral was held at the Methodist church in Mt. Auburn, at 3 p.m. Tuesday, by Rev. Trimble. The remains were taken on the 5:12 train to Dayton, where services will be conducted Wednesday at 2 p.m. by Rev. L. K. Smith of Waverly, an old friend of the family. Interment will be made at Dayton.
