Mira was born on February 26, 1912 at Henry, SD to Stuart and Jessie (Cosgrove) Boyd. She graduated from Henry High School and Watertown Business College. She married Ernest "Jim" Campbell on November 30, 1939 at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Henry, SD. Mira lived in Watertown, SD her entire life except for one year in Burbank, CA; where she worked for Lockheed Aircraft. In Watertown, Mira was employed at Montgomery Ward's for thirty years. Following retirement, she spent twenty-three years in McAllen, TX during the winter months. Mira was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, E.C.W., and a former member of Altar Guild at Trinity Episcopal Church. She also was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for over fifty years and was a charter member of Elk's Wives & Widows. She enjoyed hunting, golfing, and tennis. At the age of 16, Mira was chosen Miss 4-H Home Economist of South Dakota for the year 1928. She received an all expense paid trip to Chicago for the National 4-H Convention, funded by Montgomery Ward. Mira is survived by one sister, Elinor Nagle of Dunedin, FL and one sister-in-law, Bessie Boyd of Lakewood, CO. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters, and three brothers.
