Description	:	Mrs. Oscar (Mollie) Oake, 98, of Akron, Iowa, died Wednesday (Jan. 14, 1987) in the Akron City Convalescent Care Center after a brief illness. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in Immanuel Lutheran church, Akron. Rev. Benard Nelson officiated. Burial was in Riverside cemetery, Akron, under the direction of Schroeder funeral home. Mark Quam, vocalist, sang "Jesus Savior, Pilot Me" and "All Glory Be To God On High", accompanied by organist Carol Harris. Mrs. Oake, the former Mollie Appley, was born Dec. 9, 1888, in Union county, S.D. to Jacob and Anna Martha Olsdotter Appley. She married Oscar Oake Feb. 12, 1908, in Union county. The couple farmed for many years in Union county. He died in 1947 and she moved to Akron at that time. She was a member of the American Lutheran Church Women and Immanuel Lutheran church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Eric (Myrtle) Olund of Akron; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Oscar, three sisters, Mary, Lena and Hannah and one brother, Joseph Appley.
