Read More	GREELEY — Mona Charlotte “Char” Seamann, 81, of Greeley died Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016, at home. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley. The Rev. Antony Thekkekara will officiate. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery at Greeley. Peters Funeral Home in St. Paul is in charge of the arrangements. Mrs. Seamann was born on Nov. 8, 1934, in the Amity community south of Ericson, the daughter of James and Mona (Wagner) Pogue. She grew up on farms in Greeley County and attended grade school at Boston Valley District 45 south of Greeley. The family lived at Belfast in 1948 and 1949, then moved into Greeley, where she graduated from the public high school in 1952. That fall she began working at the county clerk’s office, and later became deputy clerk. She was united in marriage to Edward A. Seamann of Spalding on Sept. 21, 1959, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Greeley. They first lived on the place they later bought east of Greeley. In 1970, they bought a ranch north of Greeley where they lived the rest of her life. She worked at the Greeley Citizen newspaper office from 1968 until 1984, writing the “Notes From A Ranch” column. Mrs. Seamann helped her husband with the ranch work and was especially interested in the Appaloosa horses they raised. She was a great rodeo fan and was involved in the Greeley Days Rodeo from its inception. She served as secretary of the rodeo committee and was also secretary of the Greeley Junior Rodeo from its beginning in 1990. She and Ed were members of the Loup Valley Rodeo Club for many years and also helped with the Ericson 4th of July Kid’s Rodeo. She was secretary of the Amity Cemetery Association and news reporter for the West Nebraska Register and the Greeley County chapter of the American Cancer Society. Her main interest was her family and she enjoyed doing things with and for them. She is survived by her husband, Edward of Greeley; five children and spouses, John and Stena Seamann of Dunbar, Wally and Ruth Seamann of Atkinson, Emily and Tim Birnie of Minden, Marty and Carol Seamann of Ericson and Rosanna and Christopher Connelly of Panama; 28 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Jean and Chuck Witcher of Wichita, Kan.; and a brother, Walter “Bud” Pogue of Greeley. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Jim Seamann; a brother, Jerry Pogue; and an infant granddaughter, Jordyn Birnie.
