Montana "Kelly" Hedges-Rudolph died Fri. July 7 at the Rosebud Health Care Center in Forsyth, Mont. Kelly was born on April 7, 1933 to Albert Edward and Lucille J. (McCool) Hedges. She grew up on the family homestead near Ingomar, Mont. and received her education in Ingomar, becoming the first member of her family to graduate high school. After graduation, Kelly worked as a waitress until she married Fred Rudolph in 1954. Fred and Kelly made their home on the north side of Ingomar near the Olson Ranch where Fred worked. Kelly worked with JanKnits, hand knitting sweaters from Montana wool for people around the country. She also had an incredible talent for refinishing furniture, being able to see beauty beneath the exterior. Kelly earned extra money refinishing furniture for others. Kelly exemplified all of the signs of success as a homemaker, keeping her home perfectly managed, organized and well-kept. Over the years, Kelly served as an election judge, was a member of the Sage Hens Homemakers Club and was proud to be a staunch Republican. On top of being a craftsperson and a homemaker Kelly raised two children making them both independent and successful. As a grandmother, Kelly realized that children grow up quickly and was always there to play and do fun projects. Kelly was always there to support her grandchildren in all their activities, seeing both through college graduation. In addition to her parents Kelly is preceded in death by her husband Fred; son Robert Eugene Rudolph; brother Walter "Hoot" Hedges; sisters in-law Karna and Margaret Hedges; and brother in-law Roland Zeimet. Survivors include her daughter Geraldine (Robert) Custer of Forsyth; brothers Roy "Buck" (Dorothy) Hedges of Miles City, Bill Hedges of Ashland and Rocky Hedges; sisters Gail Zeimet and Sandy (Joe) Kanta of Melstone; grandchildren Amy and Arica Nile, Heidi Kinn, and Dan Custer; great-grandchildren Tyler, Travis and Tiauna Kinn and Zachary and Haley Custer.
