Description	:	Morley W. Braye died Thursday night at the Nuckolls County Hospital after a lengthy illness. Funeral services were held April 5 at the Montgomery-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Funeral services were held April 5 at the Montgomery-Williams Funeral Home with the Rev. Marion Knoell officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Cemetery. Born October 23, 1919, at Syracuse, Nebraska, he was the son of Byron A. and Estelle Payne Braye. Prior to his death he had been a resident of the Good Samaritan Center of Superior for 20 months. At the time of his death he was 56 years of age. After graduation from Syracuse High School, Mr. Braye attended the University of Colorado at Boulder and Nebraska Wesleyan University at Lincoln. November 4, 1939, Mr. Braye was married to Mary Pauline Crandall at Stockton, Kansas. Before moving to Superior in 1962, they had lived in Denver, Curtis and Edgar. Three children were born to this marriage, Shirley, Larry and Kathleen. A member of the United Methodist Church, he had served on several of the administrative boards. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and golfing. He loved his family, friends and life and was especially fond of people. He was a dedicated employee of South Central Public Power District where he was an electrification and power-use adviser. He was employed by them for 27 years and had been recognized and honored for his 25 years of service to the REA. Survivors are his widow, Pauline; his children, Shirley Swanstrom of Sidney, Larry Braye of Arvada, Colorado, and Mrs. Joe Langer (Kathleen) of Ft. Sill, Oklahoma; one sister, Mrs. John Bruggeman (Marjorie), Arvada, Colorado; and seven grandchildren, Nick, David and Pam Swanstrom, Tammy and Wendy Braye and Matthew and Trista Langer.
