Description	:	Sun Prairie Countryman, October 31, 1907 Sun Prairie, Dane County, Wisconsin Mr. Moses Chase, who was the son of John Chase an ancestor of the early settlers of New Eng., was born in the village of Craftsbury, Orleans County, Vt., June 6, 1820 and died Oct. 18, 1907 He was reared and educated in Vermont and came to Wisconsin about 1850, where he resided near Madison for a time and later settled on a farm in the township of Bristol. There he remained until 1898, when he removed to Spokane, Washington, where he lived up to the time of his recent death.... In 1847 he married Sarah Ives, who was born in Erie Co., N.Y. and who came with her parents to Wisconsin at an early date settling in Palmyra, Jefferson County. Both Mr. and Mrs. Chase were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church. They were the parents of nine children, three sons and two daughters of whom are now living: Mrs. Jennie Davis, of Emmonsbury, N. Dak., J. W. Chase, of this vicinity and Mrs. Ada Madden, F. A. Chase, and J. R. Chase of Spokane, Wash. Besides his wife he leaves one brother, George, of Vermont, twenty-two grandchildren and nine great grand-children to mourn his loss. He had a kind and pleasant disposition and his death tho not an unexpected one, will cause sorrow to many of those who knew him.
