Mr. Wright would have been 82 years at his next birthday on Dec. 9. His death came as the result of a paralytic stroke suffered several weeks ago and from which it had been known for some time that he could not recover. Mr. Wright was born in Wayne Co., KY on Dec. 9, 1858 moving with his parents to Wayne county, Iowa in 1860. His childhood and early manhood were spent in Pottawattamie County,IA where the family made its residence after 1866 and where he married Pearl Denton on Oct. 7, 1883. The young couple in 1885 joined the westward-moving pioneers and took up land in Box Butte County, NE in that year and operated a farm for about 14 years. He received baptism as a member of the old Hunt Christian Church in Box Butte County. From 1899 until his retirement in 1918, "Mose" Wright operated a fuel and feed store in Alliance becoming a widely know local character. The surviving members of the family include one daughter, Mrs. P. J. Davidson of Bayard, NE four sons, Charles O. and Ellis D. Wright of Omaha,; Arthur S. and Ira M. Wright of Alliance, three sisters: Mrs. Rhoda Holloway of Cincinnati, OH; Mrs. Ella Goodwin of Manhattan Beach, CA; Mrs. Emma Weitz of Piedmont, CA; and one brother, George Wright of Strong City, OK. The Rev. C. L. Wiseman will have charge of the funeral. Burial will be in the Alliance cemetery. The Miller Mortuary is completing arrangements.
