Description	:	Mozelle Smoot Estes, 93, departed this life and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 24, 2017 at Beacon Place in Greensboro. A celebration of life service will be held at Guilford Baptist Church in Greensboro on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 12:00 pm officiated by Rev. Dr. Brady Huneycutt. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 am in the sanctuary. Mozelle was born in Mt. Airy, NC on February 6, 1924. She was the daughter of John and Veda Smoot. She is preceded in death by both of her parents and all five siblings plus her wonderful husband of 56 years, Pastor Thomas (T.W.) Estes. She leaves behind to honor her memory, her one and only beloved son, Thomas (Tom) Estes of the home along with nieces and nephews. She graduated as Valedictorian of Beulah High School in Mt. Airy in 1942 and often reminisced about her years of perfect attendance, playing basketball and school dances! After graduation, she remained in the home to help raise her brothers until she met and married T.W. Estes. All 50+ years of her husband’s ministry, Mozelle was a devoted and loving wife while raising her son, Tom. She cherished her family and valued the many life-long friendships developed during their years of serving in churches. Mozelle was a servant to the Lord and her family. She was a woman of wisdom and strength through her family and life experiences. While her husband was pursuing his education at Wake Forest, Mozelle worked in the Athletic Department at Wake Forest. When they returned to Greensboro, She worked in retail at Thalhimers and Montaldos. She had an impeccable sense of style and fashion. But her most important job was being a Pastor’s wife, assisting her husband in his ministry and being a Mother. Her amazing sense of humor was a charm and her memory of detail, facts, and events was extraordinary! The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hospice of Greensboro, Beacon Place staff and caregiver in the home, Cindy, Masha, and Zona for their loving gentle care of Mozelle.
