Description	:	Dorothy Jean Grosserode, widow of Paul, 83, of Lincoln, passed away surrounded by family Sunday (3/14/10). Dorothy was born October 3, 1926 in Hooper, Neb. Dorothy had a deep faith and dedicated much of her life to the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln. She was a founding contributor and member of St. Joseph's Parish. Dorothy was also the first parish treasurer, member of the altar society, and perpetual adoration for 31 years. Dorothy had a deep faith and dedicated much of her life to the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln. She was a founding contributor and member of St. Joseph's Parish. Dorothy was also the first parish treasurer, member of the altar society, and perpetual adoration for 31 years. Dorothy's support also included Pius X High School, Catholic Social Services, Madonna Rehabilitation Hospital where she spent 15 years delivering the mail. During her time in West Point, Neb., she was a 4-H leader for nine years and a member of Catholic Daughters of America. Dorothy was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and Nebraska Beef Club. As a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, Dorothy's passions included time with family, traveling, playing bridge, and doing puzzles with her friends. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Dave and Becky Grosserode, Joanne and Kim Bennett, Tom Grosserode, Jane and Rocke Loken, John and Joann Grosserode; grandchildren, Heather and Allison Grosserode, Christy and Michael Doxon, Abbi and Leah Bennett, Teresa Grosserode, Rachel (Eric) Bow, Randi (Matt) Wideman, Ryli, Ranai, and Lance Loken, Patrick (Amber), Danny, Tara and Mitch Grosserode; great grandchildren, Tina, Tiffany, and Tanya Thomas, Hayley Doxon, Tony, Alex, Kendyll, and Troy Bow, Reece and Cooper Grosserode; brothers, Clark (Bobbie) and Clyde (Claudette) Luther. Preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ernest Luther; and grandson, Matthew Grosserode. Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 a.m. Friday (3/19/10) at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 1940 South 77th Street, Monsignor Liam Barr. Rosary 7 p.m. Thursday at Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home, 4040 A Street. Burial: Calvary Cemetery. Memorials to church in lieu of flowers. Visitation after 9 a.m. Wednesday at funeral home. Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
