Walden, 78, of Pittsburg, KS, passed away at 2:38 p.m., Sunday, January 29, 2012, Landmark Hospital, Joplin, MO. She was born March 17, 1933, at Chico, TX, to Claude Howard and Zillie May (Pope) Kropp. She attended schools in Elk City, KS. She was united in marriage to Andrew Robert White in 1949 and they later divorced. On October 16, 1968 she married Kenneth L. Walden Sr. at Miami, OK. He preceded her in death on January 14, 1998. Mrs. Walden was a waitress; she and her husband owned and operated Walden's Holly Café in Sedan, KS, for several years. She and her husband moved to Pittsburg from Sedan in 1990. Survivors include five sons, Rickey White and his wife Roberta of Pittsburg, KS, Danny White and his wife Cindy of Carrollton, TX, Johnny White and his wife April of Pawhuska, OK, Ronney White and his wife Mary Ann of Pittsburg, KS, Kenny Walden and his wife Stephanie of Pittsburg, KS; two step-sons Pat Walden and his wife Becky of Mulberry, KS, and Mike Walden of Mulberry, KS; a brother Tommy Kropp of Wichita, KS; 34 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she is preceded in death by her parents, a son Tommy White, and two brothers Ples Kropp and Claude Kropp. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at the Rosebank Cemetery, Mulberry, KS, with Reverend Daryl Gaddy officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 31, 2012, at the Brenner Mortuary, where friends may call after 3:00 p.m., to sign the register book. The family suggests memorials to American Diabetes Association and/or the National Kidney Foundation. These may be left at or mailed to Brenner Mortuary, 114 East 4th Street, Pittsburg, KS 66762.
