Mrs. Jones came to Emporia last August for a visit with her parents. Soon she was taken sick, and her sickness developed into consumption. Mrs. Jones's maiden name was Marie Belle Oliger. Mrs. Jones came to Emporia last August for a visit with her parents. Soon she was taken sick, and her sickness developed into consumption. Mrs. Jones's maiden name was Marie Belle Oliger. She was born in Helena, Ark, in 1884 [marker lists 1885]. When a child she moved to Kansas with her parents and for nine years the family lived on farms, east and south of Emporia. During these years she attended the country schools. The family then moved to Emporia. Mrs. Jones was a member of the Lutheran Church in Emporia, and was one of its most faithful workers. Two years ago, she went to Kansas City to live, and there she met R. A. Jones, whom she married in March 1912. She is survived by her husband, her father and mother, two brothers and one sister. The brothers are J. D. Oliger, of Dallas, Texas, and Arthur Oliger, of Emporia. Her sister, Mrs. W. E. Hall, also lives in Emporia. The funeral service will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, at the Oliger home, 119 South Constitution Street, conducted by Rev. G. G. Aue. The interment will be in Maplewood.
