Born in Riverside, Iowa, Rita attended Iowa City Commercial College and then moved to Des Moines to work as an executive secretary for John Deere Co. Read More	Resided in Fremont, CA Rita Marie Croft, a 58-year Fremont resident died peacefully on July 22, 2017 at the age of 91. Born in Riverside, Iowa, Rita attended Iowa City Commercial College and then moved to Des Moines to work as an executive secretary for John Deere Co. There she met and married Paul Croft and they moved to Los Angeles where they started their family. In 1959 they moved to Fremont. Rita worked for the Fremont Unified School District at Brier Elementary, Washington High School and the school district offices. She retired in 1985 and then spent most of her time enjoying her grandchildren, traveling and doing volunteer work at St. Joseph's parish and for Sister John Marie's Pantry. She was an amazing seamstress and gardener, loved to read and walk, especially on the beach. She was at every ballgame, dance recital and play performance for her grandchildren and was an avid baseball fan holding Oakland A's season tickets for many years. She is survived by daughter, Pamela Malak, Leslie Mahoney, Michele Sullivan and eight grandchildren: Kyle, Andrew and Eamon Malak; Sean and Brain Mahoney; Patrick, Craig and Monica Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Croft and son, Alan Kirk Croft. Mass will be 9:00 AM on Friday, July 28th at the Old Mission Church 43266 Mission Blvd, Fremont, CA. The Malak, Mahoney and Sullivan families would like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Muriel's Residential and Bridge Hospice for their love and tender care of our Mother.
