Description	:	Funeral services were held on Saturday for Myron E. “Mike” Thompson, 65, lifelong resident of the Lake Preston community who died last Thursday in a Sioux Falls hospital after an illness of several months. K. and Bertha Thompson, was born January 23, 1914 near Lake Preston. He was baptized and confirmed at the North Preston Lutheran Church. He was married to Ardys Olson on Nov. 10, 1939, in a double wedding with her brother and Myron’s sister, Orris and Kalma Olson. He had been a member of the Lake Preston Lutheran Church since his marriage. The couple farmed in the Lake Preston area all his life. He is survived by his wife Ardys; one son, Michael, of Lake Preston; two daughters, Mrs. (Rita) Larson, and Marnie Thompson, both of Denver, Colo.; and five grandchildren. Also surviving are one brother Leonard, Lake Preston; and three sisters, Mrs. Kalma Olson, Lake Preston, Mrs. Evelyn Freisen, Casper, Wyo.; and Mrs. Tilla Moen Denison, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Kermit. Lake Preston Time – October 19, 1979
